All rabbit owners need to be hypervigilant for flystrike
Now that warmer weather is upon us, all rabbit owners need to be hypervigilant for flystrike in order to keep their rabbits safe. Make sure you exame your rabbit thoroughly at least twice daily especially round the rear area.
Bluebottles lay eggs of any moist or dirty area of your rabbit, these quickly hatch into maggots which will start eating your rabbit alive unless treated.
If you spot any eggs on your rabbit it must been seen by us urgently to remove them all. There are topical treatments to prevent infestation available from us, do please make sure your bunny is protected.
Please share with a bunny owning friend!
